Orange Picks Up Another Labor Endorsement (Updated)

On top of endorsements from the Washington, D.C. Building & Construction Trades Council and AFSCME Council 20, Vincent Orange can now add the Metro D.C. AFL-CIO to his list. That's some heavy labor weight in his corner, surely more than Interim Councilmember Sekou Biddle, who has claimed the nod of the SEIU State Council and UNITE HERE Local 25.

Update, 12:45 p.m.: The Post's Tim Craig has the full story here. What's interesting is that Orange gets big support from both organized labor and big business, which means that he's either perfected the art of telling people what they want to hear or everyone just assumes he's going to win so they're jumping on-board. Whichever it is, it should make for some interesting dynamics should he win and should his biggest supporters start calling in favors.

  1. That’s a huge endorsement for that guy Orange, seems like he will have a lot of momentum going into the last 4 weeks of the campaign. I just got one of those “Orange Plan’s” in the mail a couple days ago. I read it thoroughly, and I gotta say that atleast the things he pointed out will move this city in the right direction. People say whatever they want about Orange, and believe me I was one of those people that was against him at one point but, he has a course of action that can get this city out of a slump. Good job tropicana….
